Matthew 4:10
Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Almighty God, often we wrestle with ourselves as Jacob wrestled you that night. When we struggle, help us to stop and empty our minds - that we not convince ourselves one way or another, but appeal to you in submission and ask, "Lord, which way do I go?" And in that moment, let us simply listen, that we might know truth and let your soft voice guide us. And in listening, we can set down the burdens of the spirit and flesh - pride and want - and joyfully embrace humble service, love, and grace.
