Luke 6:49
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Jesus, your first discourse, the Sermon on the Mount, asks us to trust in your judgment. For it is easy to love those that love us and hate those who hate us, but you and the Father love those who hate. Should we build our house only on the first, we shall surely fall into despair over the injustice we see around us. But if we should believe in you, your grace, and your promise; and love truly in this life even those we do not understand, despair will fade, lovingkindess will beat in our heart, and we shall be transformed.
