And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Lord, you truly are our way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, and Light in the darkness. Your word echoes across time and your teaching opens our hearts, so that we may sit this morning in peace on the mount with our savior, and those two thousand years between us are of no consequence. And for this fleeting moment, we might experience time as you do.
