Matthew 14:23
And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

Jesus, how your heart must have ached at the death of John the Baptist. And though you hurt, you fed the thousands - filling them and healing them. Today let us likewise set aside our hurts, turn them over to our Father in prayer, and not let our own wounds interrupt our service to others.
