Romans 4:13
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Abraham believed first, and you would give his line the law later. We asked for kings, but just as with the law, kings could not save us. So you gave us your Son, King of kings, and your Spirit, that we might believe and be reconciled to you. Lord, you work in mysterious ways, and though I try each day to work hard, I fail again and again. Thank you for loving me through my failings. I pray only for faith today as you have given so much already.
