Jeremiah 1:10
See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

Lord, though we don't want to see destruction, it is part of the cycle. And from the ashes, new buds spring forth. Help us to look ahead to a new year with hope in our hearts, and though we might not know the outcome, we believe in your purpose.
