Leviticus 25:5

Leviticus 25:5
That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.

Father God, you took that seventh day to rest. You instructed us to also rest - ourselves the seventh day, the land the seventh harvest, and debts the seventh year. We don't rest - we always want more, and we've built a system of interest: paid and earned. And I have to wonder if we'll ever return to your way - truly resting, trusting in you to provide, and not pushing so hard to extract from the land and from others.
