Numbers 31:2
Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.

Almighty God, you sent your people to war and it is easy all these millennia later to apply my moral standards and judgements on a time so different, so I try not to. But I wonder at the necessity for war in this world. And I pray for peace.
